Aceh District is located north of North Sumatra and is known for producing classic Sumatra coffees, with the center of coffee production being the city of Takengon by Lake Tawar. Despite its spelling, Aceh is pronounced "Ah-Chay" and is associated with the Gayo ethnic group, one of the main groups in the region.
