Water Process

What is Water Process?

Water Process (WP) is a non-chemical decaffeination method used in coffee processing, where beans are soaked in near boiling water to extract caffeine. The water is then filtered through charcoal, and the beans are reintroduced to absorb their flavor. While this method doesn't involve chemicals, it can result in higher prices and duller coffee, and may affect the cup quality, particularly for bright and lively coffees.
